First, download the certificate, goldenfrog-client.p12.
Navigate to the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder. Open the application, Keychain Access.
In the 'Keychains' section on the left, click System.
From the File menu, select Import Items.
Select the goldenfrog-client.p12 certificate (this will typically be found in your Downloads folder.)
Enter your computer's administrator username and password.
For the certificate password, type goldenfrog (This is case sensitive and has no space).
Click the category labeled Certificates found on the left.
Click the triangle to the left of the certificate, goldenfrog-client. Then double click on the private key that appears beneath the certificate.
Click the Access Control button at the top of the pop-up window.
Click Allow all applications to access this item. Then click Save Changes.
Enter your computer admin password if prompted.
Confirm the privateKey access to change permissions. Click Allow.
Again, locate the certificate labeled goldenfrog-client. Double click the certificate.
Click the triangle to the left of Trust in the pop-up window.
Select Always Trust in the drop down menu labeled When using this certificate. Close the pop-up window.
Enter your computer's administrator username and password.
Locate the certificate labeled GoldenFrog-Inc CA. Double click the certificate.
Click the triangle to the left of Trust in the pop-up window. Select Always Trust in the drop down menu labeled When using this certificate. Close the pop-up window.
Enter your computer's administrator username and password. Quit the Keychain Access application.
Go to System Preferences. Under Internet & Wireless, click Network.
Click + (the plus icon).
Select VPN for the interface, L2TP over IPSec for the VPN Type, and type a descriptive name for the Service Name. Click Create.
Enter one of the host names from the VyprVPN servers list in the Server Address field. Then, type your Golden Frog Login (e-mail address) in the Account Name field. Next, click Authentication Settings.
Enter your Golden Frog Password in the Password field. Under Machine Authentication, click the radial button for Certificate. Click the Select button.
Choose the goldenfrog-client certificate and click Continue.
Click Advanced.
Check Send all traffic over VPN connection, then click OK.
Click Apply.
To install the Certificate:
Installation of the Golden Frog Certificate requires administrative privileges on your computer.
- First, download the certificate, goldenfrog-client.p12

- Confirm the privateKey access to change permissions. Click Allow
- Again, locate the certificate labeled goldenfrog-client. Double click the certificate.
- Click the triangle to the left of Trust in the pop-up window
- Select Always Trust in the drop down menu labeled When using this certificate. Close the pop-up window
- Enter your computer's administrator username and password if prompted
- Locate the certificate labeled GoldenFrog-Inc CA. Double click the certificate.
- Click the triangle to the left of Trust in the pop-up window. Select Always Trust in the drop down menu labeled When using this certificate. Close the pop-up window
- Enter your computer's administrator username and password if prompted. Quit the Keychain Access application
To Configure the L2TP/IPSec Connection:
- Go to System Preferences. Under Internet & Wireless, click Network.
- Click + (the plus icon) in the lower left
- Select VPN for the interface, L2TP over IPSec for the VPN Type, and type a descriptive name for the Service Name. Click Create
- Select the newly created VPN connection
- Enter one of the host names from the VyprVPN servers list in the Server Address field. Then, type your Golden Frog Login (e-mail address) in the Account Name field. Next, click Authentication Settings.
- Enter your Golden Frog Password in the Password field. Under Machine Authentication, click the radial button for Certificate. Click the Select button.
- Choose the goldenfrog-client certificate and click Continue.
- Click Advanced, check Send all traffic over VPN connection, then click OK
- Click Apply
To Connect:
- Click the VPN icon in the menu bar
- Click Connect to your new VPN connection
To Disconnect:
- Click the VPN icon in the menu bar
- Click Disconnect from your new VPN connection
